Whole House Water Filtration Systems Water Filter System

Water Filter Systems

Most water filter systems use activated carbon filters to remove any impurities and chemicals from the water. This process of water filtration works through absorption. Each molecule of carbon attracts and absorbs all the bacteria and chemicals that flow through the water. However, as the filter traps more contaminants, it becomes clogged and unless it is changed, it will not be able to purify the water in your home. These filters have to be changed on a regular basis.

A water filter system can be attached to the pump at the location where the water enters the home. These are called whole house water filter systems and are quite effective in providing purified water to every faucet in the home. There are also less expensive filtration methods you can use to make sure that your drinking water is pure. For example, you can use:

  • Bottled water. There are many different brands of bottled water, such as filtered municipal water or spring water, which you can purchase. You can buy individual bottles or large containers to use with a drinking water filtration machine.
  • Brita water filter. This filter is in the form of a pitcher that you fill with water and cool in the refrigerator. The water flows over a filter as it pours from the tap and collects in a storage compartment in the bottom of the pitcher.
  • Faucet filters or under the sink filters. These systems filter the water before it comes out of the tap. You can turn off the filter when you don't need the water for drinking.

No matter which type of filtration system you choose for you home, we all understand the importance of having clean, pure water to use every day.
